If you are thinking about adding an Air Fryer to your cooking arsenal, it’s very important to think about how many people you are going to be cooking for. If you’re number is 3-5, well, you’re going to want to strongly consider getting one of these big boys. I’m talking about a capacity of at least 5-6 quarts. Let’s find out what the best large air fryer is.
Luckily for us, there are several really good large Air Fryers in the $100-200 price range. I personally own the De’Longhi Multifry, and it’s great for cooking a lot of food at one time. I have friends and family who have used the Philips and Nuwave Air Fryers, and they are both very good.
If you just stumbled upon The Air Fryer Guide, I’d love to help you get more acquainted with Air Fryers. There are many in depth articles here that will answer your questions and help you decide if an Air Fryer is right for you!
We’ll take a look at some of the features that you’ll want to consider, and hopefully narrow your choices down. Let’s get to it then!
The Top 5 Large Air Fryers – Best Large Air Fryer
Probably not much of a surprise here if you’ve been looking at Air Fryers for any length of time. There are over 260 reviews on Amazon for this Airfryer, averaging 4.4 out of 5 stars. The Philips XL is suitable for cooking up to 4 people at a time.
The Philips XL has a large 5.2 quart capacity. They back up the capacity with a huge 1750 watt heating element. That means even if you are cooking a lot of food at one time, it’ll still get done in a hurry.
Other remarkable features of the Philips XL is it’s large touchscreen control panel. There are many preset cooking options to choose from and you can even create your own one touch programs. It’s truly hard to beat this one. If you have the budget for it, you may want to take a hard look at the Philips XL.
Pros: Large 5.2quart Capacity, Powerful 1750 watt Heater, Fully Digital Controls
Cons: A bit pricey, but in this case, you get what you pay for.
The De’Longhi Multifry is BIG… you can cook up to 3.3 pounds of food in this thing. The multifry is a bit different from the typical Air Fryer (you can tell just by looking at it). It features a removable automatic mixing paddle, and a separate bottom burner. There is no limit to what you can do with this machine.
I personally own the Multifry, and I’ve cooked burgers, fried chicken, stir fries, and bread rolls in it. I’ve baked cookies, brownies, and the occasional hand tossed pizza in this beast. It truly is a multi purpose machine.
The Multifry is not without a few setbacks. It’s noisy…about as noisy as an exhaust fan. I don’t really care, but some people are concerned about that. It does have only one analogue dial for temperature. It comes with a removable timer, which is convenient if you want to throw it in your pocket and go do something else for a while, but there is no automatic shut off like most Air Fryers would have.
The main heating element is 1200 watts, which I feel is underpowered at this size. It definitely could have used a 1700 watt element. All in all, the pros far outweigh the cons, and I would personally recommend this Air Fryer. You’ll find this one going on Amazon for $160-200.
Pros: Cook Just About Anything With This One. Probably The Largest Capacity Air Fryer On The Market.
Cons: Noisy, Underpowered, No Preset Cooking Settings.
This one is in the running for best large air fryer.
At 3rd place is the new for 2018 GoWise 5.8 Quart Air Fryer. It has the large capacity you’re looking for and can cook for 3-5 people at a time.
The GoWise has some nifty features like a shake alarm, that reminds you to shake your food at different intervals of the cooking time. You can also choose to change your cooking temperature during a cooking session, which is not possible on some other models with digital controls. There are 8 preset modes for your favorite dishes as well. Very handy indeed!
It actually comes with a complete accessory kit, which will give you all kinds of cooking options from baking, grilling, frying and broiling. Also, a booklet filled with 50 recipes is included to get you started with your new Air Fryer.
This handsome machine comes in 4 different colors. A standard black, a very cool looking plum color (shown), chili pepper red, and good honest white! No matter what color you choose, if you’re looking for a large Air Fryer, it may be wise to go with the GoWise 5.8 quart. (see what i did there?) Click Here to Buy On Amazon.com
Pros: Big and Powerful Air Fryer at a Good Price, 4 Colors Available, Nice Featurees
Cons: A Little Tough to Move Around Because of Size
This Air Fryer flies under the radar a bit, but it consistently gets good ratings with an average of 4.3 stars out of 5. It has a generous 5.2 quart frying basket to cook up to 4 servings of food at a time.
The Simple Living Air Fryer XL features a big ole 1800 watt heating supply to make sure that large portion of food gets cooked in a hurry.
Fully digital controls with 7 preset settings for your favorite foods is a nice touch. Three accessories are thrown in the box, including a deep cake pan, a pizza pan, and a grill plate… hooray for free stuff!
The thing about this one is…well…it’s not all that handsome. It looks like a shiny black gum drop. And yes, it only comes in black. This isn’t necessarily a deal breaker for me, but I’d keep it behind closed cabinet doors when not in use. The price is nice at $140-160 on Amazon.com.
Pros: High Capacity With Enough Power To Match, Digital Controls With Presets, Pretty Light Weight For The Size (13 pounds)
Cons: The design, to put it nicely is uninspired.
5. NuWave Brio 6 Quart
The original 3 quart NuWave Air Fryer is one of the more popular fryers out there. You can find it on the shelf of many department stores in the US. NuWave now offers their Air Fryer in a huge 6 quart size. There are only 11 reviews on Amazon, but so far, it has a 4.4 rating out of 5.
NuWave sweetens the deal by offering a deep baking dish and a good looking grill in the box. The Big Brio has digital controls and presettings which are always nice.
But here’s where it get’s a bit naughty. You can expect a bigger Air Fryer to be heavy, but this old girl tops the scales at almost 20 pounds. That’s something to consider if you’re planning on taking this thing to grandma’s house.
The Brio isn’t very pretty either. It just looks like a big black brick with some lights on top. If we have to look at these things on the counter everyday, it would be nice if they were more visually interesting. Oh well, as mama always said, looks aren’t everything.
Pros: Big BIG BIG 6 quart capacity, Included Accessories are always welcome, Digital Controls
Cons: At 20 pds, It Might Be Hard To Move Around
