Well, I’ve been using my Air Fryers to cook frozen food for almost 4 years now.  You’d have to break a bat over my head to take them away from me! Air Fryers do an awesome job with frozen food. The Air Fryer cooks frozen food faster than a traditional oven and it tastes much better than it would if you cooked it in a microwave.

Now, if you are here just to ask the question “can you cook frozen food in an Air Fryer” and have no interest in checking out my list of delectable frozen goodies, I completely understand. Just allow me to make one recommendation.

If you are interested in an Air Fryer to cook frozen food with, I would highly recommend the Cozyna Digital Air Fryer. I’ve cooked with a lot of Air Fryers, but for the money, you can’t beat this one.  Not only is it a very capable Air Fryer (and affordable), Cozyna stands behind it with excellent customer service. Plus you can grab it right off Amazon and have it delivered to your door… Sweet!

Well, you’re still here, so why not let me show you some of the things I’ve cooked first hand that have turned out absolutely delish in the Air Fryer.

Can You Cook Frozen Food In An Air Fryer – My Top Ten Favorites

1. Hot Pockets

So you come home, blasted from a tough day at the office. You don’t feel like cooking, and you want something to munch on while you unwind and watch a little tube. Hot Pockets to the rescue! Cooking Hot Pockets with the Air Fryer couldn’t be easier. Just preheat the Air Fryer for a few minutes and throw in the Hot Pocket.

I like to spray a little garlic butter on my Hot Pockets right after I put them in the Air Fryer, but that’s just me being fancy. In only 10 minutes time at the highest temperature setting, you’ll be enjoying your cheesy, savory, and perfectly cooked Hot Pocket! Can you cook frozen food in an air fryer?

As you may very well know, Hot Pockets come in all sorts of varieties, ranging from pepperoni pizza to applewood bacon and eggs. It seems like every other month there’s a new variety in the market. Don’t be afraid to give the new varieties a whirl!

2. Frozen French Fries

Although you can cook some really good fresh cut french fries in the Air Fryer, sometimes frozen fries are just easier. Frozen French fries seem to take forever in the oven. Sometimes they come out unevenly cooked because the pan gets hotter than the rest of the oven. You can forget about trying to make french fries in the microwave..nasty.

Frozen french fries turn out great in the Air Fryer. There is a little tip I need to give you though. The Air Fryer uses a basket with holes all around it so the hot air can reach all of your food. Well, naturally if your basket is full of french fries, some of the fries in the middle aren’t going to get enough heat. All you have to do is give your Air Fryer basket a good shake every 5-7 minutes or so.

Cooking time for frozen french fries is around 20 minutes at the highest temperature setting. I like to add a pinch of salt, some fresh cracked pepper, and a sprinkle of parmesan cheese to my fries. If you give your fries a light spray of cooking oil, it will help of these spices cling to your fries. Dang it…now I’m hungry.

3. Frozen Buffalo Wings

Buffalo wings are one of things I cook most in my Air Fryer. I make a lot of my own (I’ll tell you how to do that here), but there are plenty of times I just want to open up a box and dump some wings into my Air Fryer. You should have no trouble finding frozen wings that will taste every bit as good as you get at the restaurant.

Because frozen wings are prefried, you won’t need to add any oil when you cook them with the Air Fryer. Your wings should take around 15-20 minutes to cook at the highest temperature setting. Make sure you give them a good shake after the first 5-7 minutes! Can you cook frozen food in an Air Fryer?

4.Pizza Rolls

I saw a meme going around a while ago that asked the question; Do you make your Pizza Rolls in an oven or the microwave? I found myself shouting at my screen, “Air Fryer!”. I firmly believe that Pizza Rolls taste better when cooked in the Air Fryer rather than the microwave. The Air Fryer will also cook those Pizza Rolls faster than an oven.

So there it is, an Air Fryer should be your go to appliance for cooking Pizza Rolls! Pizza rolls only take about 10 minutes to cook at 340f. If the basket is pretty much full, give them a shake at around 5 minutes. Man, I do love me some Pizza Rolls.

5. Beer Battered Fish Filets

It’s an unfortunate truth that you just can’t make your own beer battered foods with much success in an Air Fryer. The Air Fryer just doesn’t give that flash of high heat needed to seal the batter.

Fortunately for us all, you can buy pre-fried beer battered fish that turns out amazing in the Air Fryer. Again, these are pre-fried so you don’t have to add any extra oil. Just flip those fishes in the basket and cook them for 10-15 minutes at the highest heat setting. Don’t forget the tartar sauce!

Halftime

Well, you’ve made it halfway, and if you’re anything like me, you’re probably starving by now. If you don’t already have an Air Fryer and you’re seriously considering getting one, allow me to make a recommendation.

I’ve used many different Air Fryers now, and I can tell you that the Cozyna Digital Air Fryer is one that you just can’t go wrong with. Aside from it being an extremely capable Air Fryer, Cozyna backs it up with great customer service if anything should go wrong with it. It’s also affordable, so check it out…see what you think.

6. Jalapeno Poppers

air fryer popper

One of my favorite all time appetizers is a jalapeno popper. They are not all that fun to make at home though. You have to core out all the peppers and then you set your eyes on fire when you put your contacts in…maybe that’s just me.

Fortunately for us all, you can find frozen jalapeno poppers right in the supermarket. Let me tell ya, they cook up just wonderfully in the Air Fryer. In only 10 minutes time at the highest temperature, you’ll have delicious jalapeno poppers ready for you and your friends!

7. Beer Battered Onion Rings

Who can resist a batch of fresh out of the fryer onion rings. I don’t know about you, but if I’m given the choice between fries or onion rings…I’ll take those rings baby!

Unfortunately it’s awful tough to make beer battered onion rings from scratch with an Air Fryer. But, (huge but) you can buy pre-fried onion rings at your local supermarket that will turn out every bit as good in your Air Fryer.

Now that I think about it, it’s a friggin mess making fresh onion rings anyway. Save yourself some time and effort and try a box. I bet you’ll love them. Beer battered onion rings should only take 10-15 minutes in the Air Fryer at the highest heat. We’re going to shake them every 5 minutes of course.

8. Mozzarella Sticks

Simple yet satisfying, mozzarella sticks are at a staple appetizer at any road style restaurant. Well, you can make them at home too! Grab a box of frozen mozzarella sticks at your local market and toss them in the Air Fryer!

In only 10 minutes, you’ll be in gooey melted cheese heaven! The only question is, do you prefer ranch or marinara to dip them in? You’ll have to keep a close eye on these when you’re cooking them, because the second cheese starts to run out, you’ll want to pull then out of the Air Fryer. No cheese must go to waste, my friends!

9. Tater Tots

Tater Tots are a tried and true family favorite. Shoot, I bet you have a bag in your freezer right now, don’t you…don’t you!!! Well, if you do, open up that bag and dump a bunch of them in the Air Fryer. They’ll turn out great in there!

Tater tots take around 20-25 minutes to cook at high heat in the Air Fryer. You’ll want to give them a good shake after 8 minutes or so. I like to put some cheddar cheese and bacon bits on mine just before they’re finished cooking. Again, just me being fancy.

10. Frozen Mini Tacos (or Taquitos)

air fryer tacos

If I come over to your house and you put a plate of mini tacos with sour cream in front of me, I’ll be your good buddy for life. Bite sized tacos…what’s not to love? Taquitos are great too, but depending on your Air Fryer, they might be a little long. You can always snap them in half though!

Frozen tacos only take around 8-10 minutes on high heat to cook in the Air Fryer. They’ll turn out crunchy and delicious. I wouldn’t plan on them lasting long though…those things should be declared as an addictive substance!
